"Microscopic Earth" - The First Photos

Welcome to 2011, and to an exciting, brand-new photo set, Microscopic Earth, which I will be posting intermittently over time. I see this set as capturing elements of the Earth and presenting them like microscope slides. For this whole set, there are only minor digital manipulations: luminance adjustments, cropping, and rotation. Check out the first several photos on my Flickr page.
